UK’43 Turns 14-15

Continuing from HERE

Germans crank hard on the Soviet para drops..probably not well done by me. But it pulls forces away from the front…so maybe it does not hurt too bad.
Nikopol is reduced to just one step, this will fall next turn guaranteed.
The Russians pile up on the river, ready to threaten the German Northern flank across the wide open plains!
Even Krivoy Rog is under threat at the moment with just a remnant in the hex. The Soviets are REALLY close to AV.
An all out push for VP locations yields good results at the expense of steps, but the Germans begin to lose steps that matter: armor! Armor losses finally outweigh replacements. The Russians get into a groove of being ok with 2:1 and even 1:1 attacks to force the issue and pile large attacks onto key locations. The noose tightens.
As we assess the turn, the Germans look at the holes in the South they see a definite 4 VP falling to the Soviets Melitipol, Nikopol and Nikoljev. A flood of units across the Dnper South of Kremechug and realize that loss is but a heart beat away. The German fire brigades are now effectively “the line”. Further North things are not so clear cut with only Grebenkovski at risk within a turn or so and maybe Cherkassy.

The Germans concede.

  1. Thanks, herr Scharp. UK’43 is a great game. After yourt playthrough I now have renewed motivation to finish Nikopol and Zaporozhe scenarios I started last year.

  2. This game would progress nicely into a round of Jaws of Victory
