Scn5.7-19th December

Lehr:

V Fallois advances and engages TF O’Hara, both lose a step. Fallois elects to engage a gain this time generating a step loss and a retreat.

I/902 drives by the 158th Engineering static unit [no eZOC] to Mont and fires arty @ 3/501st generating a step loss.

II/902 drives by and through the 26th VG to end adjacent to O’hara and fires a barrages on them dropping another step. The 130 Jagd Pzr element STOPs and engages. Eliminating the O’hara team.

Lehr do not accrue fatigue but nor do they secure a 2nd activation.

101st and CCR 9 Armoured move units to potnetially slow down the German advance or reinforce the Bastogne circle. The 101st place themselves in Prepared Defense, and pop off some arty to no effect.

2nd Panzer:

Bohm comes onto the board moves to 7.24 near TF Booth, and attack by fire. dropping a step off of them.

II/3 moves nect and engages TF Cherry forcing a step loss and retreat. The Rest of 2nd Pzr advances and consolidates hoping for a 2nd activation, no FAT increase.

End of 2nd Pzrs first activation.

2nd Panzer attacks the outskirts in a full activation.

II/3 fires twice at Cherry forcing a step loss each and a another step loss on Cherry and retreat. This helps clear a path forward clear of zones of control for 2nd Pzr.

Bohm attacks along with II/2 into 1/506th hex on the road. They drop support and roll a 7 for the attack. +1 DT, +2 support, +1 assist and +2 hard red [I think]. -1 for Prep D. Net result is D1 Retreat.

End of 2nd activation. The placement of 1/3 is going to annoy me next turn I can just tell, especially if 26th VG is pulled first. He should have stacked with the 1/304th. I also see I missed moving a unit into the PD info counter hex, so you will see later on that I ‘correct’ that.

26th VG

Kors [using replacement unit, cant find the damn thing] stopes and engages armour TF in Margeret and forces a retreat. Continues movement to Neffe. Other elements of 26th Advance to engage the 158th Engineers. Who survive an arty barrage. II/7 executes a combat and rolls 11. That will net to a D2 and retreat.

Uits move up through Alleborn, Longvilly and past Margeret. We may have moved a few hexes too far with some truck elements in the turn as it was mud and trucks are halved. We can sort through that in a bit.

No second activation for 26th.

Formations are better organized and we can now begin the assault upon Bastogne!

The 101st need to hold until the 4th Armoured arrives!
