Quatre Bras

Quatre Bras/1

Library of Napoleonic Games. Napoleons Last Gamble.

Setup is specific in this scenario. However, Leaders may be placed with a unit from its Corps or Division. So Perponcher will be moved to one of his. I checked in two other titles on this battle and both had flexible arrangements at the lower level [brigades] to place units within bands of hexes or areas.

Starting the Scenario at 2PM feels a bit late, and yet even then Wellington is not technically in Quatre Bras. But for the purposes of this scenario he apparently is. Most other titles have him returning from a meeting with Blucher near Thyle? I think. One game has his entry to their map at 320pm. Curious to learn why the differences.

Turn 1, 2 PM

Neys forces move. They immediately engage the elements around Gemincourt. Each hex here is 525 years or so and turns are in essence 1 hours with a night turn per calendar day.

I will later regret not keeping 5th Division together, as Campi and Deschalles really should stack to together in a later attack. Both attacks go in and result in DR2 and a elimination for Peronchers Bijlandt.

Using a combination of regular and road march the Picton’s lead elements arrive in a nick of time.

Knowing that Cramms light Cav will take a beating, we however press them to the front, to reduce any higher odds attacks on the forces in Quatre Bras.

On to Turn 2 3PM
