With a foggy 3 mega pixel phone camera, I took my first pictures to post on BGG, so that I could write about Alexander the Great and share the vivid stories racing around in my head.  I had just purchased SPQR, and besides a few old SPI flat packs and AH’s DDay these were the two ‘newest’ modern titles I owned.

54+ plus plays later its still a great system.

A decade on the room looks like this…and the hallway, and another room has been taken over for game play!

Pardon the panorama shots below, but it gives you some idea of how much I’ve invested into engaging in this hobby of ours. The time, titles and table time have been fantastic.

The blogging really just kinda happened organically…and well decade to the day later I’m still enjoying capturing the epic moments of game play and learning new systems.

BGG says I now own 384 games and have previously owned 279 [yeah I rotate titles out pretty quickly]..in fact its likely time for another purge!

This year so far 24 new titles hit the table, so a much slower rate than last year which ended up with 44 new plays. This year has been a lot of larger titles Deadly Northern Lights took a load of time and generated a lot of fun, as well as Tunisia & DAK2 gameplay.

In any case, its been a fun year but a bit of a struggle with games I’ve enjoyed. Several have not hit the spot.

I’m looking forward to the last quarter or so of the year with a handful of new titles that are promising.
