Waterloo 1815 Turn 3 Part A

Waterloo 1815 continues and this scenario replay continues from Part 1 here::

Turn 3

HQ’s are placed then Detachments:

The Detachment and Ziethen create a flexible zone that will slow any French advance. Pirch has a ZOC, and Ziethen has a Zone of Influence that reaches 2 hexes. Cav can ignore it, but infantry have to stop, then move again next activation. Interestingly the Allie also place Detachments upon the ‘supply sources’ for the Allies to provide protection, no doubt from some sort of gamey lunge for a victory. I’m here for the long haul. Napoleon wants absolute victory if he can get it! That comes from eliminating the enemy!

Movement

Prussians predictably move to the Ligny area. Its central and a great position to be in control of. Which is why we hang the Reserve Cav out on a limb, to slow them down on the approach.

Note, that the graphic on the top left is an inset image of the Prince of Orange, Lobau, D’erlon and Reille advance on the left Flank but are positioned to go centre or left. Next Turn I need to cover 1 bridge/supply spot with a detachment so to protect my Supply line.

Both sides jockey for position around the crossroads North of Ligny. I’m hoping to secure a strong position around Ziethen to destroy him out right. While keeping Grouchy’s cav from being locked up in a unsupported battle.

On the left I have 3 Corps. He does not appear to be taking any bait on these. I was hoping to threaten his Right and draw all the Brits to that flank. Then use Druout and Vandamme to hold the Prussians at bay.
