I am an instructor at the US military academy at West Point. I have to say that we have been studying the tactics of your southern Soviet player for years to gain insight into this modern day Zhukov. What was it like to be in his presence? We have heard that he has the sweet smell of turmeric. True? Also, I have heard that you like your sausages de-veined. I find that weird.
Losses wise : the Germans were losing more division than you mention (“5-7 divisions”). I think they were losing 5-7 in the north once things settled and the same in the south once that attack finally started.
Definitely over-committed in Romania (thanks “General Awesome”). Please teach your students that WW2 was not won by committing 20 armored Corps in Romania. Had about half of those been in Poland…
I never thought Sov losses were heavy, but that was a bad thing as we should have been using those Hurrah Attacks to get Exploits.
I think the Germans “failed” in that there was never a central panzer corps that was back from the line to smash any given Sov stack or attack. I think that was balanced out by the Sovs not pushing hard enough, so a wash.
No guarantee for Berlin, but I think the German losses were not sustainable and Berlin was going to “fall” (if it was in our game) somewhere in East Prussia when there just were no more German units left to fall back on Berlin.
So sad! I’ve become Anonymous!
