Ukraine ’43 Turn 5-6

Ukraine ’43 play continues:

Continuing from HERE
The Soviets attack aggressively.

Lets kick off the turn with a look at the South. Now firmly across the river and past the defensive lines of the Germans the Southern Front plans to lunge to Stalino.

Successful attacks get us close!

In the north the battle of attrition continues for Kharkov.

By the end of the turn the Germans have done some reinforcing of Kharkov, pushing another unit into the grinder. While pulling back what they can in the South.

In an effort to draw resources North of Kharkov the Soviets press on into the Western area just South of the Seim river and West of Sumy.

This attack allows for some pressure to be applied with a Defense Shattered result.

The unit in Belgorod of the Germans just wont die to attacks or attrition. This slows out ability to stay in supply and apply pressure to Kharkov.

Unbelievable these damn A1’s on high odds attacks are painful. But once again this forces the Germans to pull back in full in order to keep dressed lines!

Stalino falls in turn 5.

In fact we sweep 4 VPs this turn. This now opens up the map a lot. But we have significant German units trapped behind the line that will require attacking or Attritting away.
