  1. I wonder if the FTC has similar rules about leaving on-line reviews on platforms like App Store, Yelp and/or Google.

  2. You mean a video of me ripping shrink off a game is not a “review”? 🙂

Most reviews seem to be in the format of a play-thru with a few trailing comments like “nice components” or a framing of the systems involved, but not if they work when you play it out over the course of the game.

As to playing… what would the expectation be for a review? I’ve seen a few where they throw a few pieces on the map and say “see – this is how you shoot” and that really does come across as the most they’ve done. I would hope a review would encompass at least a full play of a learning scenario – but too many strike me as summaries of a few turns or how they think it will play as opposed to “I just played 20 turns and this game rocks / sucks and here is why”.

  3. And as to “trusted”… it seems it more often comes down to asking another player I know who has played the game what they think. Not sure I trust many of the reviews I see if the endstate is me spending more than $20-30 on a game. Kev knows I’ve got some $20-30 losers on the shelf that we’ve laughed about…

      1. You care, you bastard. If people would just suck it up and wear a damn mask for a month, my wife could stop dealing with sick people in the hospital, and I could start freely gaming!

Speaking of the “power of reviews” — got a copy of Brazen Chariots coming my way after watching your low quality videos.
