Stalingrad ’42 Turn 10

Ok.

So we chatted and agreed that it really all comes down to 1 or two battles and really it comes down to Voronezh.

If we cannot capture it this turn, I got nothing. I’ve bled teh army out, ruined several divisions, and a lot of units are now being pulled off the front for historical recalls.

 

So we are very intent on taking ing Voronezh which would clock us in for a Auto win. We need 12 VP.

With the 2:1 attack Voronezh simply goes to City battle 2….

At the start of turn 11 you can see dispositions below. Even if Voronezh falls in turn 11 the VP marker now moves to 7, thus we need 13 VP to win.  We are perennially one short! What a fine tuned game.

There are literally no incrementally VPS within 1 turn reach. We both agree that the Germans have shot their wad and its a Soviet easy win from here. We are both eager to move on to Desert Fox the sold SPI game for a change of theater.
