Line of Sight was a bit tricky to start with. But once we understood a few key terrain features the process of using even the most advanced gear head LOS went smoothly. This little XLS tool I down loaded makes it dead simple.
The big error for the North Korean was being to eager to recapture the hilltop. In the first instance they should have used the reverse slope for about a third of their force.
Let the rest be overwatch on the approach instead of all up front.
Then we neglected to self suppress when being shelled. Makes a big difference.
Then we should have sued the overnight to recover morale of 1st Bn and limit further losses and attacked at night.
The Marines executed pretty well, after a few rough turns of movement in the open and really bad arty spotting they got intoa groove and took the road side edge of the hill and swept inwards. Much like the historical outcome.
Crushing losses. But not so for the Marines. VP count was well in favour of the USMC.
Another excellent Scenario, despite some poor play/planning execution by the North Korean side!
