Frances 1-3 & 2-3 companies stymie the First GD advance. And continue to inflict losses.

German air strikes by Stukas and 109’s prove in effectual. French Arty suppress the lead element of III & I GD.

German Arty now zeros in on Stonne suppressing and paralysing some elements as well as units in Ogne inflicting one loss.

As the French adjust to arty they lose a few squads to overwatch fire.

German IIIGD is suppressed by vicious overwatch, the entire center along the road is stymied and in the east GD units clear hexes at a high cost.

6-II advance to the base of the hill and 4-II-8 secure the Southern approach, while 5 & 16-IV clear woods to the North.

The French call in danger close arty support! Dropping the boom stick on the 10-III GD platoons advancing through the woods.

105mm shells rain down on the dug in French. Some are suppressed, some take losses, but they grimly hold tight.

There are some however who fare worse. The sounds and fury intimidate the French as they seek any cover they can.

Racing into the town the 4-II-8 pummels the 4-2 from the 205th.

With the road on the western approach now clear the Germans can focus on Stonne proper from all points of the compass. In the mean time the hard fast fgithers around Ogne must be dug out on 1m at a time it seems.
