EFS, Army Group Centre- AAR Turns 3-4 June 26-29 1941

Turn 3 June 26-27 1941

The weather is dry, this turn there are several units which are OOS of supply for the German forces: 20th panzer and the 7th panzer. They are located in Vishnevo and Smorgon.
The Soviets enter into emergency supply mode for many units trapped in the pocket.

3rd Pzr also enters emergency supply mode.

West of the Silva In the South 10th Pzr and the SS:R take Khomsk, and Drogichin.
The 4th and 17th panzer approach the moroch river.
+1VP for Porozovo by 3rd and 18th Mot.

In the North we seem to have very few units, we may need to redirect some forces and in particular a motorized and panzer division to reinforce the effort heading towards Minsk.

The Merkus river is cleared with 12th Pzr., they pick up 1 VP during this action as it kills arty and armour. 7th Pzr takes Molodecho and Velozhin falls to 20th Pzr. , 20th motorized and 12th Pzr consolidated North of Lida.

In the center 10th motorized and infantry units conduct an unsupplied attack across the Narev river Bialystok falls plus 1 VP, 29th motorized and 8SS regiment attack aggressively to secure that location.

In the South around Grodno several attacks are conducted and this results in first poor attack result 3R!!

The Soviets look at the map and realize that they must begin attacking, they consider their options and assess the value of conducting 2 to 1 attacks regardless of the outcomes perhaps a retreat or a forced step loss on the German defenders will make a difference for the Soviets and allow them to slow the rocket like advance of the German army.

During their turn the Soviets build up strong points in key locations on the road net on map H and map I. During the Soviet motorized phase 4 declared attacks are conducted.

There is no reaction by the Germans these are aggressive attacks but they are not paying off only one step loss was inflicted for four attacks the attack on 3rd panzer for instance forced a 1 step loss on the Soviets and a retreat! Other attacks fare similarly and Porczow and Indura are abandoned.

Turn 4 June 28-29 the weather is dry the Germans received 12 ASP they also are required to remove a number of SS units at the brigade or regimental scale.

Losses to date:

Most forces are back in supply except a few!

During the move phase in the North around Minsk the 7th panzer is repulsed at the fortified line and by 38 Tank with a motorcycle infantry unit four hexes North of Minsk, 7th panzer cracks through the line the 18th panzer does clean up and the and attacks the 29th tank and 3rd army edge which both evade a certain death 4th Panzer suffers heavy losses taking 2 steps.

17th Panzer loses a step at Timovichi township. At the 4th line Soviet night the 10th airborne brigades hold up the advance 4th panzer breaks through in the North Drink the motorize face elements of the recon portion of 20th Pzr approach Minsk 7th and 20th Pzr rapprochements and begins surrounding it in its entirety.

4th panzer goes around the airborne units that slowed them down in the prior turn at the end of the German turn for they now have 12 VP this turn.

Soviets attack and try to exit isolation in West portion of the maps.

They place reinforcements. Then start tallying up losses:
