Catalaunian Fields was also known as the battle of Chalons. It is one of Attilas conflict with Rome, in this module there are 2 battles 1 set in Eastern Europe the other in Western Rome Empire with the Hunnic confederation Some minor rule adjustments exist – for bow ranges and feigned retreats.
Which involves some testing against TQ factors and prompts counter charges and the like.

In this particular scenario there are also rules for defection of the Alan formation. Basically if you roll a 9 or higher on an activation roll they will leave otherwise if you roll a four or less they will activate for you.
As you will no doubt note the battle field here appears to be incorrect compared to the map and forces set up by the GMT release.
There is a lot to suggest that this makes more sense. Thorismund and Theoderic are on the same flank, they are arguably within message range, and this presents a simple for the time flank maneuverer versus the Visigoths magically crossing the river twice and sneaking behind the lines. If I had found this earlier we might have adjusted prior to play. Nevertheless we shall continue and see what transpires in our now wholly fictional battle of
Chalons!!
The Huns attempt to engage the forces on the hill….to ill effect.
They also close en masse to archery range.
Due to the special rules, there is some to and fro on losses.
Over on the right the Romans anticipate a weak center.
Well… this became a charnel house quickly…eek.
The first rout!
The Romans form a shield wall, to thwart the hasty Hunnic charge.
This did not end well.
A major blood letting on both sides.
The center weakens, and the center flanks seek to compensate.
Now the entire Hunnic right, Roman left is fractured.
Sigh.. yes… The cat took the field on this one. Depsite my best viewing of images I could not re construct the field. But I think it fairly represents what might have transpired!!! LOL…grrr.
