A couple of pointers for you: 1) activating 1 or more units under Hood gives you a +2 to your die roll not just 1, so that Hood could’ve moved 1 hex and still had 4 movement pts remaining which would allow a prepared attack against either Osterhaus or McPherson’s stack. Also, 2) Hood could have activated more than 1 unit within his command radius, so specifically Cleburne or the unit under the Fatigue 1 counter could also have been activated at the same time to cover the flank hexes you talked about.
