Opening Moves US Forces: June 28th 1985:
The US using its Ferry capabilites shifts air assets into the Hormuz. Stationing them between Badar Abbas & Omans fields.

Demonstrating and flexing capability. Simultaneously flights depart Diego Garcia and land 2 battalions of the 82nd airborne to secure the airfield [#552] and Bandar Lengeh. The balance of 82nd Airborne, 31T and 7MAR plus a ‘boatload’ of supply cast off from Diego Garcia head for the straits. Other US reinforcements sail through the Indian Ocean to reinforce the situation.

Iranian forces destroy bridges North of Minab in order to slow the Soviet advances and force additional supply/repair point usage. Mujahedeen deploy in the far North anticipating Soviet arrival along the most obvious routes.

The high tech underwater war over the straits continues under water as the USN ‘s SSN Buffalo hunts for the enemy subs. but to no avail.
With the Soviets paras landing in Jiroft, USS Constellation gets a fix on elements of the 103rd, and send a strike package of F-18’s to hinder operations [+5MP through the or out of the hex] .
The pace is quiet frenetic given the time scale, and the entire battle is already taking on a inter weaving multi-domain aspect. This will require clear thinking for both side to stage, supply and bring the correct force in the right order into the battle space in order to be effective.
