SCS: Autumn for Barbarossa [opposed play on vassal]

Part 1 of 2.

A Vassal based play of Autumn for Barbarossa.

An SCS [Standard Combat System] title previously played and reported on in 5 parts.

Here we go live against an opponent using the Vassal module.

Planned opening attack by my opponent.

Which go pretty well!

Turn 2:

North of Rudnya 5:1 – d1:r1

A1:d1

Some mighty attacks go side ways. It always helps to call the number 3..and earn a a1:d1 on a 4:1

Soviet Turn 2

6 days and 7 miles a hex the soviets have their work cut out for them each turn. Slowing down the advance until they can gum up the works with a wall of Soviet units.

End Turn 3

It never hurts to have a little air support…or 12… the max. Its nice to be the Germans in the fall!

Good news is the Soviets are holding out in key cities longer than expected. I had not known the exact value of the reinforcement rule as it pertains to surrounded cities. The Germans are falling behind the historical push timelne.

In turn four the Germans take only 4 air, and this will also slow their assaults.

19th Pz clears!

Smolensk is under threat!!!

Soviet reinforcements are plugging holes and gathering forces for counter attacks. As armour rotates out it gathers at key locations. More next report.
