My initial thoughts on the game plan and approaches for this scenario. Which is a popular one for those who are just starting out and want to explore the Warsaw Pact units.
The Czech have to close quickly despite a 12 turn operation, and they have 3 routes of advance down roads. 2 are covered , one the central one is wide open.
They must capture the township and EXIT 7 units from EITHER of the two formations excluding the troop transports. [Note in the video I state its just the Infantry formation and vehicles incorrectly.]
The West Germans have two Improved Positions, a scattering of thin skinned ATGM units and 3 Leo 1’s. A tough call against 9 T55’s with reactive armour and a 2 Companies of Infantry.
I’ll be posting an AAR on the game play and starting a second play shortly! It got ugly quickly!
Great Videos. I thought cultivated terrain was obscuring which makes this scenario really hard for the West Germans, but I may have played that wrong. From your discussion it sounded like you were not treating it like a LOS obstruction, ie blocking if through two or more hexes ( or perhaps you just did not get there yet).
Thanks again!
