Agra 1803 2nd British-Maratha War
Within weeks of beating the Marathas at Aligarh and Delhi, General Sir Gerard Lake marched south to the fortress city of Agra, on the Jumna River, where he defeated a large force under Daulat Rao Sindhia. He then besieged and occupied the fort, capturing a massive treasure.
Lake’s subsequent victory further west at Laswari effectively ended the so-called Hindustan Campaign (4–18 October 1803).
