As I look back on this game play with hindsight. It’s distressing to em how aggressive I was counterattacking. Plus f$%k you vassal die roller…lol. Nah its all good, but A1 results really bite deep for the Germans. Losing an armour step is like losing 4 steps to russians. They can afford to bleed you white. I am accelerating that process.
So stuff is going down way faster than our prior play. The Russians are a juggernaut of careful attacks and a lot of 1-1’s that in the main work out fine. anything from an A1/d1 thru to an Exchange is great for them.
This Sth area is a cluster….I dont even wanna talk about it.
I manage to slow down the Southern advance, at great expense, AND he get cautious thank goodness. But now the trouble shifts to the North… Ahuge gap, which he can penetrate bu be OOS. Now the great news about Simonith games is OOS dont matter much. If you wanna capture dirt and can still trace a line of command you are ok. 100% of defense values work, but you are halved on atk and move…. no big deal. Ig I were him, I’d shove those units into teh gap and the game would be over!!
Start of Turn 6 We can see he chose he chose not to advance. Lucky for me. The line stabilizes but Kharkov is gunna fall. I should have been building forts all over the place… I realize this a bit late. I’m trading huge swathes of land for time, but he is slowly falling behind on the VP schedule. IF he gets to 6 behind its an auto win for the bad guys.
