I just had a similar but slightly less embarrassing thing happen… It went like this:

I assumed as most East Front games put the Soviets second in play order that as I started Fortress Stalingrad that with the Soviets going ‘first’ in the over game turn and Turn 1 being a truncated Soviet turn that the Soviets got a back to back turn!!!

The horror.

Luckily I caught my mistake in time…unlike this poor old has been!
