I posted recently about what we hope to accomplish in turns 6 & 7.
Well lets see how the dice treat us.
In turn 7 we penetrate to the South of Voronezh, and he draws forces off to support the defense. But im bleeding steps!
In the South lots of action as I press all the armor into the effort. Voloshilovgrad is now cleared and units press deep.
Turn 8 action:
We wanted to be at 10 VP by this time… but we are one shy. Deisgn genius by Simonitch or crappy play by me? or BOTH !!?
You can see a lot of reduced armor. I think its the only way…. WE have to go hard or hunker down. Which the VP track WONT allow. So all go go go. Until we are combat ineffective.
Start Turn 9
With units both sides of Voronezh can we crack it? CAn I sneak across the river and bust that ZOC bond?
YES. We are now in a city fight for the hex, and this breaks the ZOC bond. My troops can cross the river.
But in the south depsite smashing units we have too far to go, and too few units to capture many VPs’ We miss the mark.
Close but no cigar!
Great annotations on your screenshots!!! These go a long way to bringing the (static) action to life!!
