Gallery and short notes on North Africa in the SCS system
May 41
Rommel captures coastal ports and towns, lunging all the way to Mersa. Collecting significant supplies. This allows a continued push at the CW forces.
June 41
Sweeping South and the East Rommel batters the CW and keeps them in limited supply and chips away at their stacks, while consolidating control of the coast line with the Italians.
With very few units left we assess that it might be time to play another scenario or reset.
Sidi Barrani falls in Exploit phase.
It takes a full activation but due to the CW pulling everything forward the Axis find a seam and secure Mersa. This fouls up CW supply AND aids the supply situation for Rommel which was getting very low.
CW keep reacting and falling back, but have limited movement due to supply
Death toll mounts below as the Axis carve up stragglers.
Being in one or two big stacks cant slow the drive, and being spread out means you are cherry picked. Tough challenge to fix.
As you can see here this play has about run its course. Two weak stacks and a few stragglers.
Very interesting will rotate back to the table pretty quickly!
