The Heroes of Normandy book, audio tape and now…expansion are nicely done, so lets try the expansion scenarios based on the book! Can we be as heroic as Mack?
This scenario takes place after the highly dispersed landings, and Mack a well educated Glaswegian [who hides it with a thick accent] and an inexperienced British Officer, attempt to make it to their objective – the bridge, with a few men.
Mack is represented by Brin, and Lt is Julien here. There is a time crunch here, German reinforcements headed to the beaches of Normandy must be slowed or stopped at the bridge. The Paras have to blow it!
Even with the bridge blown this is just a 1/3 of the job, the spotlights [green disks] must be taken out and all the Germans shaken/disordered. The sapper is a stealth enabled unit, facing off against bipod mounted MG 151 guarding the approach [looks like a different model in image below]. This double drum fed, 1,000 round per minute gun is going make swiss cheese of our boys if we are not careful.
This is how Mack and co will attempt to achieve their objectives:
Easy…!
Mack the knife? If he is really from Glasgow, it should be Rab the Razor or even Mack the Malky, from Glaswegian rhyming slang – Malcolm (Malky) Fraser (Razor).
:). Americans writing about Scottish gits..what can u expect.
