The SCS title is not a favorite of mine. But I saw my buddy WARdrobe playing it on You tube. I had not seen this smaller scenario before. Its only 6 turns long and has a really nice historical feel too it as it removes some units from both sides that went off to do other things historically.
He had a rough time of it getting much traction with the UK forces. So I thought I would take it for a quick vassal spin and see if I could see where he could make some different choices.
As you can see above. We got 5 air and we placed our Arty at the opening to try and clear the road. Sadly we failed!!
But we quickly moved in, over ran what we could and set up for attacks.
The German Arty hung tough! And refused to be either DG’d or die!
The 82nd spread out to slow reinforcements while sending a solid ½ dozen companies to secure the Son Bridge. Not remembering that no threats in this scenario come from the North.
The rest of the UK forces move onto the map in the Exploit phase as there is nothing really to overrun and they position themselves for fast start turn 2.
At the end of the turn the Brits have not stopped for tea! Indeed they have pressed past save passage lines and are out of supply. That’s ok… We are going to try and push the envelope here a bit. As this is just a 6 turn scenario.
We want the Germans to fall back, not try and counter and we want to clear that damn woods road ASAP!!!
Lets see what Jerry has in store for us in thier turn 1.
