I’d say that relative to OCS Reluctant Enemies [RE] the Commonwealth are off to a slow start. The Axis relinquished the Litany river are inflicting a step loss. In the mountains and Valley center the Axis drop back a hex, but maintain a choke hold on the valley. South of Damascus they reinforce the river /Lava Line. One key difference here is the un known quality units on the right Southern flank of the Commonwealth. Those forces will release over time. While they are all 1 & 2 attack strength and one dummy, they represent a supply cut off threat. This was not present in the OCS title on the same topic.
The Commonwealth are going to have to pick a front to focus on for the first 3-5 turns, with a view to reinforcing a second avenue of approach after reinforcements arrive. There is no air for either side in the opening of the game. The C’wealth will target Damascus for starters, and be opportunistic elsewhere.
