We are working out some rules for ourselves adn finding all teh litle nuances derived in part by European mindset vs US mind set for rule writing! The Air superiority phase in Scenario 3 is interesting and the choices made by the NATO forces were a combination of chicken shit tactics, i.e. fear, force preservation and attempting to be where the Soviets were not. NATO chose to try and cover the Rostock zone and despite heavy AA & SAMS interdict chopper baseds transits, vs going head to head with the Soviets out gunned and out manned over the Malmo and Sjaelland zones.

The Soviets laid a carpet of zone control from Sjaelland to Ronne.

June 85, the Soviets decide as part of an overall strategy to rid the world of the evils of Capitalism to launch an aggressive invasion of the Danish Sjaelland and Norway.

This report focusses upon the heroic efforts of the people of the Soviet Union to rid the world of lax pretensions of democrat socialists and evil capitalist in Denmark.

The 336th Marine Brigade is diverted at the last minute to make an amphibious landing on the coastline of Denmark instead of directly into the industrial port of Copenhagen.

Apparently co ordination efforts with the Soviet air forces bombing and their promises to blow the Landwehr home defence units out of the city failed! As the Marines watched from the deck of their landing craft, airplanes could be seen in the distance trailing smoke and plunging into the sea as missile after missile scorched the sky . They wondered what lay ahead for them. Quiet concern etched the faces of the leadership. Why were the reports of success over the skies of Denmark, yielding such poor results. 

Alarm after alarm rang, and evasion tactics were called for sub attacks by Danish ships. It was heartening to see debris and bodies bubble to the surface from two such incidences.

An under strength Brigade fights a delaying action against the Marines. Inflicting losses, the hold ground and declare they will fight to the death!

Training for the big one.

 

It is now the NATO Activation Phase.

These three TF’s are present in Danish waters.

It would be ideal if we can spot and engage via missile combat with both the Danish Navy and WG naval elements TF 3 and 2. 

We will need to review how multi TF combat works in a single nautical hex.

 

On land UK will seek to ship units to Denmark. While Those Danes who are currently active will press the counter attack against the reduced Soviet Marine landing force, and simultaneously reinforce the open Port on Copenhagen. Likley a futile effort given the air support the Russkies can likely bring to the table.

BUT we may be able to support with gun factors.

Another minor thing is we will attempt to move minelayers into place to mine the ports.
