This is all about gamers get the most fun out of the games they play together and it encourages continued or repeated play. I love that. This of course will not prevent you from rolling poorly on BOTH SIDES of the battlefield!
Now we get to the meat of it. Balancing skill levels. As is often the case one player knows strategy or tactics or both better than the other. So they have an edge.
Red provides us all with a nice way to deliver some handicaps to enable a chance for one side or the other to have an ‘even ‘ chance at success.
This is all well and good IF you care about winning? IF you don’t. Well then we don’t need to bother. However it is also nice to NOT be the punching bad all the time. This is where weighted handicaps can add some value and true up game play.
What do you folks do to balance play for either uneven sides, or different levels of ability?
