Mc Donald’s Farm

After Buckner’s card was drawn first, allowing a follow on move giving Adams the opportunity to finish off Turchins men who were wiped out by effective volleys from the Adams/Stewarts Rebs.

They could clearly see the Union force in disarray, fully a 1/3rd of them wounded or dead, their leaders trying desperately to rally them to order. The ‘T’ Terrible result broken them.
Stewarts men then advanced to support Adams attack which saw them close well but ultimately were pushed back by heavy fire from a hodge podge of Beatty’s men. Stewart not to be faint hearted crushed the shaken Union boys, and then barrelled through the surprise Divisional arty in the rear.

They were now separated from the main advance due to Adams poor showing. This led to no small amount of chaos, pausing to assess the situation the men are clearly uncertain what to do!.

In fact confusion reigns on the battle field. Starkweather against his subordinated better judgement and protestation, led his men from the log works and advanced to where he thought the enemy was approaching. Volleys were exchanged, and his men hurriedly retreated to safety.

The Union forces had a hard time getting organized to fire or respond. Johnsons men of the XX Corps fire haphazardly to no effect, and stand their ground. Some orders appear to not even making it to the right leaders.

Polk perhaps sensing a moment, presses closer to the rear, reassured that the Cavalry has his back.
