Overview
During the October 1st Soviet turn the Military Strategy Briefing held on February 16 explored/discussed the following: key discussions revolved around the operations of the 1st and 2nd Belarus Fronts.
It was reported that units along the Kelyban railway line are preparing for a potential attack, with observers noting the disruption of Soviet formations during air and German reaction phases, as well as the successful targeting of German positions by Soviet artillery, resulting in casualties for German forces.
At the 2nd Belarus Front Operations area, infantry units were strategically put into reserve and advanced into marshland, utilizing favorable terrain for supply and armored support, despite facing setbacks from German tank busters and the loss of a guard armored unit.
There remains uncertainty regarding the timing of an attack on Klimovichi due to these challenges.
Additionally, supply allocation decisions were made, with eight out of thirteen supply factors designated for the 1st Belarus Front and the remainder for the 2nd Front. An action item was identified to evaluate the strategy regarding the attack at Klimovichi, considering whether to move forward or delay until the next turn.
