After what has been a couple of years of on off play we call it bygones with the DAK 2 Race to the Wire scenario. We had started at the very beginning, then the Axis got a bit spun up around the axle so we pivoted to Race to the wire.
However my opponent could not keep enough supply flowing to build up solid momentum.
I used that to strongly reinforce the Tobruk salient, early. The big omission I saw beside piecemeal attacks was not bombing Tobruk port facilities every turn. So Given the situation we call it a modest Allied win.
In this game we played a blend of live and by email. This sped things up a lot but still took a long time with two busy schedules. This is not a game where I would enjoy 100% PBEM, too much time can be spent min/maxing. I’ve found that with a few games. I like to jump on and play, I dont want to spend 4 hours factor counting to get just the right odds or ‘just the right plan’. Too many hours on screen already.
