Burma Learning Scenario continued

Lets pick up around Turn 3:

No reinforcements, no variable reinforcements. Supply is moved onto board. 3CA moves (1t) to 2.27 to support the ability to do trace supply. Air strikes pound the Japs. 17Ind moves up to attack and 63rd brigade gets ready to attack the DG’ed Japs

The airstrikes that DG’ed the Japanese units were worthwhile but did not help the attack much. Supply was paid then combat (no barrage) Atk’er AR4 Def AR4-1 9for DG.
No surprise
Terrain Ext close and Tanks cannot fight. The 7-10Ba. fights across river -1/2 ‘ed & 63rd is not changed. 7 factors v .5 =14:1… that should be good yes?????
roll a 5+1 for DRM of AR’s (action Ratings)….6.
AL1/Do1. Allies lose a step and Japanese retreat. wow We lose the 63rd.

end of turn 3 Japanese move units up and put units in supply. mud hampers everything.

 Turn 4

J Team grabs initiative and  move across the Manipur river towards Sigget. The Allied tanks could try and attack the  moved battalion but after last turn, elect to sit tight and let the Japanese come to them.

On the Turn 5 May 15th The Japanese enter Reserve mode.  At the south end of  the map they are OOS and one unit fails its forage role in the north also. Japanese pop units into Reserve mode to sneak across the rough terrain.

With clear weather Allies pay to refit the Aircraft and ready them to attack the lone battalion trying to block supply.

The reserve move gets the battalion on the road. In hind sight it would have been better to be in the mountains, defensively and this would prevent the tanks from engaging.

The Hipshoot does the trick. with a 1/2 result.

The lone Arty piece fires also drawing supply from Tonzang. Whilst more supply is shuffled towards them in prepration to abandon Tonzang.  At the end of Turn 5 the Japanese battalion is DG’d. Going into turn 6 the Japanese have initiate and the weather is clear.

At the south end of the feld the 17th Ind 12-FF move back to be in supply, and both Japanese units returned to supplied mode.

I am trying to imagine this with a 1000 pieces……………………………………………….

  1. It isn’t as bad as all that – about 950 of those 1000 units won’t have the supply to do anything at any one time!
