Geeklist 2014!

Here is a peek into what I hope to play next year + random add ons, extensions, and Pre Pubs that come my way!

2014 will hopefully be a busy gaming year , where I explore more titles than 2013, and perhaps invest a little less time in titles that I have played extensively.

That said GboH, OCS, SCS and TCS,  as well as LNLP’s -WaW and LNL will still feature in my gaming.

1. Board Game: Aspern-Essling [Average Rating:6.78 Overall Rank:3986]

This and 2 other titles to be played as a means of exploring the different rules systems for some of the titles I own, see list for the other titles.
So far I like the NBS system at the tactical level the most.

Oct 8th CB/GBII Turn 3

Axis initiative was kept this turn. This back to back turn will help the Germans in the North press deeper before Light Mud or Mud ruins the party!

There are however challenges to be faced. With Soviets scattered all about the is a strong desire to ‘clean up’ versus press forward. The turn ends up being a bit of both.

In the Far North the Germans sit pat.  Not so in the Nelidovo – Rzhev corridor.

Oct 5th CB/GBII Comments. [turn 2]

Big Picture:

Should the Soviets press hard in the North there could be trouble. Despite being pushed back their first attack the Soviets have a wealth of units to employ and the Axis have little or no viable supply in the area. They also have taken the SS:W south and left the Entrance areas mildly exposed.

Soviets Take initiative, dashing hopes of rapid break thru.

Soviets spend time and SP on building HH in key locations and deepening HH values along the board in both the South and the North.

Soviets use what they got!

The Long Range bombers attack near Krasnograd. They are intercepted from Poltava! 1 step loss taken and both abort.

Orel are similar airstrikes occur the 18th Panzer Arty is destroyed!!!! DG’d to all hell.

Best for the Season!

As Santa swooshes his way across the world delivering an improbably high number of gifts to a ridiculously naughty “but you get something crowd”. – Merry Christmas!

Lets all pause for a moment to reflect on the the aspect of Giving. While we are often caught up in the commercial aspects of Christmas, the Holiday Season and all the other Winter Festivals the ability to give, large or small is a cornersstone of what makes us Human.

This season give to someone with no expectations, no desired outcome and no regrets.  Think about how that feels. For me that is the meaning of Christmas. A small window of time to remind us of the need to give to others selflessly.

Thanks for all that you do for others!

Thank you too for taking the time to visit here,  watching, reading or perusing. The gift of your time to this site helps motivate myself and all the others that pitch in here.

We will see you in 2014!
